Puerto Natales: Base Torres Small Group Trekking

About This Experience
The same climb to the base of the towers as the big group hikes, but capped at 12 people with two guides once the group passes six. Both guides hold Wilderness First Responder certification, and the operator provides poles, plus crampons when there is snow in winter.
From the Hotel Las Torres area the round trip is about 20 km with almost 900 metres of elevation gain. The ascent takes four to five hours at a normal pace with breaks, and the descent takes about as long. The last half hour to the viewpoint crosses a moraine of loose glacial boulders, which is slow going.
At the Mirador Base Las Torres you get about 40 minutes to eat, rest and photograph the towers above the lagoon. The group regroups at the van between 17:30 and 18:30 for the drive back to Puerto Natales.

What Travelers Say

Fabulous walk, wonderful guides, lots of wow moments. It’s a challenging walk though, lots of up and down, last hour up is very steep. We did 40000 steps. Need a little lie down the next day.

Great trip! Although pick up took longer than expected that made the hike run a little bit in a rush but worth the hike up.
